Slabs and other elements certified as green building materials by CII-GREEN PRO India.

Chemical Resistant

Materials extremely resistant to all chemicals products and agents.

Graffiti & Stain Resistant

Panels positively tested with V test for anti-staining, including permanent marker test.

Easy To Clean

Extremely low porous slabs, cleanable with normal water or daily cleaner, without use of special materials or processes.

Dimensionally Stable

Rectified slabs make each panel in size and stable in dimensions.

High Breaking Strength

The use of the best raw materials and sintered processes make panels very high breaking strength, more than conventional surfaces for facades.

Frost Resistant

Extremely low porous panels, not penetrable by water and frost free in case of extreme freezing conditions.

Extremely Light

Sintering processes make slabs highly compact, with a weight of 14 kg per sq.mtr in 6mm & 21 kg per sq.mtr in 9 mm. Much lighter than other conventional facade surfaces.

    FAQs

Why are Nexion Panels for Façade called Sintered Façade Panels?

Nexion Panels are composed of natural minerals that are combined and shaped using high-pressure and High-temperature Sintering technology.

How Sintered Façade Panels are different from other Ceramic Tiles?

The Sintering technology uses very high pressure & temperature to create in just a few hours, by which stones are naturally created over a period of thousands of years. This is advanced technology over conventional ceramic tiles which makes the facade panels very compact, flexible and extremely low in water-absorption, making them ideal for facade applications.

What is the need for fiber-glass mesh at the back side of Panels?

Fiber-glass mesh is a safety feature. In the case of Ventilated Façade (Dry Cladding) application, if the panel breaks after being hit by a satellite, the fiber-glass mesh prevents the broken pieces/splinters from falling.

Are Nexion Façade panels available without Fiber-glass Mesh?

Yes, Nexion Sintered Façade Panels are also available without fiber-glass mesh; these are generally used for wet cladding application with Adhesive.

What technical features make the Nexion Sintered Façade Panels suitable for outdoor cladding?

Nexion sintered façade panels are suitable for façade/cladding application as these are very low in water absorption (≤ 0.08%; ISO  10545-3) making them Stain Resistant.

Are the Sintered Façade Panels tested for weathering in outdoor conditions.

Panels with/without fiber-mesh are tested and cleared for Weathering and UV Resistance vide ASTM G154. The test involves simulating tough weather conditions including varying temperatures, dry/wet conditions and UV Radiation.

    Are Nexion Panels Fire Resistant?

The Panels are fire resistant and tested under EN 13501/NFPA 285 norms; Panels without fiber-mesh are classified as A-1 and Panels with fiber-mesh are classified as A-2 for fire resistance.

What adhesives are recommended during installation of Sintered Façade Panels?

Exterior Cladding must always be done based on recommendations of Architect/Façade -Consultant. Nexion recommends the use of high-quality Adhesive (e.g. C2TES2, MS Polymer) for Wet Cladding applications. In the case of Dry Cladding, Nexion recommends the use of high-quality Structural Sealant (e.g. DOW 995/795, GE 440, MS Polymer) as additional support along with the Dry Cladding System.

Any Special Precautions to be taken care of while installing Sintered Façade Panels?

While using Adhesive, the surface must be clean, dust-free and free from any residual material. While using Structural sealant, it is advisable to use mild grinder/rubbing tool to make the fiber-mesh surface rough for better grip.

Any Special Precautions to be taken while cutting Nexion Sintered Façade Panels?

For panels with fiber-glass mesh, please cut the panel with back-side up. This will help in retaining the grip of the mesh with the tile surface.

Which systems are generally used for the Sintered Façade Panels installation.

TERRAMILANO, HILTI and FISCHER Dry Cladding Systems have been successfully used in India. Notwithstanding, it is advisable to follow the recommendations of the architect /façade-consultant to decide on the correct Dry Cladding System.
